FBM - Flow Balance Machine

The Flow Balance Machine - FBM - permit the flow measurement and setting of the granular products, as well as the total countering of the product. The typical installation of this device is on series type in way to mixing multiple products in same production line. Thank to a communication protocol it is possible to control and setting the machine with a remote PC station in way to be easy the creation of the mix recipes.

Operation

The main operating of the Flow Balance Machine are to controll and setting the passage of the product passing trough the device. With the pre setting and adjustment of the passage damper the doser grant the correst product flow passage trough the machine. The setting of the damper is make with electric actuator the also grant the closing of the damper in power failure case. The continuous counter of the flow permit at the PLC to set the actuator in open/close the damper in order to maintain a constant flow set. The product that falls on the damper is counter trough a load cell which transforms the product pressure on the plate in electrical signal. This signal is transmitted to the PLC and translated into a flow measurement data. At the end of the operations setted, stopped by the operator or in case of alarm condition, the damper will closed and the machine will be ready for a new dosage cycle. The Operartor can also set a defined weight of product to be dosing, and when the set point will be reach, machine will stopped automatically and the damper close.

Communication with supervision system

The Flow Balance Machine allows communication with a remote supervision system and the possible development of a system for analyzing the quantity of weighed product, for yield calculation and data storage.

With the configuration system it is possible to set the communication protocol:

  • None (the machine works in “stand alone” mode)
  • Modbus RTU (RS232) - SLAVE configured
  • Modbus TCP (Ethernet) - SLAVE configured
  • PROFIBUS protocol - Optional
  • PROFINET protocol - Optional
